SINCE I HAVE BEEN POSTING UP THESE LP'S LATELY, I HAVE BEEN AMAZED AT HOW MANY VISITS AND DOWNLOADS I HAVE BEEN GETTING LATELY. I AM FAMILIAR WITH ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO EMAIL ME OR THAT THEY OR THEIR FATHER WAS IN A BAND I POSTED ON ONE OF MY COMPS, OR THE ARTISTS THEMSELVES. I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHERE SOME OF MY REGULAR ON LOOKERS ARE FROM AND WHO YOU PSYCHEDELIC HIPPIES ARE. ALL OUT OF CURIOUSITY FROM ALL THESE VISITS FOR MUSIC THAT WAS RECORDED OVER 40 YEARS AGO. DROP ME A LINE. EITHER OR, I WILL STILL BE POSTING THE MUSIC FROM MY FAVORITE TIME PERIOD.
THANK YOU ALL,
SIR PSYCH

Your Excellency...I live in Dallas, am 46 years of age and have been a psych fan since I was 6 years old listening to Clyde Clifford on KAAY-AM in Little Rock, Ark. Clyde had a wonderfully weird show called Beaker Street in the late 60's-early-70's. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaker_Street ). At 6 years of age I counted D.O.A. by Bloodrock and Sweet Leaf by Black Sabbath as two of my favorite songs, so you can see it's been a long journey for me. I've been collecting psych for decades and think your blog is very, very cool.
I'm 48, an ex-jr-hippie hoosier with wide-ranging music taste, who's always sought out the obscure and unusual. I was always too poor to go after collector vinyl, so file sharing and music blogs have opened up whole new worlds to me. I discovered your blog a few months ago from an mp3 someone posted in comments on an obscure blog.
I'm sharing all your albums on Soulseek, and I've sent at least a dozen people your blog addy when I see them downloading old psych from me, so maybe I've helped get you a little of the increased traffic.
Thanks so much for making all this great but forgotten music available again.
Thank you to my 2 only friends here. Mr.Bongo. I was born and raised in Dallas for the first 14 years of my life, before my family chose to move out west.
Flagellant, that's fine that you are sharing my rips at soulseek. I have been there a few years back, but couldn't find anything of interest.
I do not collect mp3's. Just pure vinyl. I am a collector of music and owning the originals seems to be the only way to satisfy my musical fetishes. But I do love sharing my rips with everyone...I mean you two. I guess you two guys love coming here and downloading the same albums over 100 times a day. If you guys have any requests feel free to contact me.
I do have certain people on my mailing list which I send them my updated Sir Psych presents series. I am up to volume 42 now, but I only have up to Volume 22 posted here. Again thank you two for commenting and visiting My Psychedelic Shack.
The Sir...
Sir!
I didnt join in yet 'cos I am already a mice-pace pal of yours where my music-taste histoire is detailed obsessively! [i must apologize for the many seeming-bashful borrowers of your collection and generosity, who weigh in never!]
A point not mentioned @ MS: the 1 album that really turned my haid round in the 90s was THE BRITISH PSYCHEDELIC TRIP VOL 1---what a trove of then-unimagined treasures there!--MyOmy, the mid-late 60s was a blessed creative unique era.
I be separated from most of my music collection that is in storage, and find myself recently in the silly position of downloading stuff to hear that i already own!
:)
luv/thanks from the southwest
WOW,...Sir!
That's some Funky Stuff,...You have! Lovin it! But tell me,.. What should I do to get a notice of the things you're doing!
Oh,...& I would love to have that "Travel Agency" Record,..What can you Do?
THAT TRAVEL AGENCY LP IS POSTED ON MY BLOGIF YOU WANT TO DOWNLOAD IT, AND JUST KEEP ME BOOKMARKED TO SEE WHAT NEW STUFF WILL BE POSTED. I AM RIPPING SOME NEW LP'S TO POST NEXT WEEK.
I SET MY COMMENTS TO WHERE ANYONE CAN COMMENT NOW. I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING E-MAILS FROM PEOPLE TELLING ME THEY ARE TRYING TO LEAVE REQUESTS AND COMMENTS, BUT CAN'T.
NOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE MAKING REQUESTS, TRY TO KEEP IT AT RECORDS THAT YOU CANNOT FIND ON CD YET. I WILL TRY TO HELP YOU IF I CAN.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY GE. YOU ARE A REGULAR, AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SELECTIONS. SIR PSYCH VOLUME 23 SHOULD BE POSTED THIS WEEKEND. HOPE TO HEAR FROM EVERYONE.
THE SIR...
...another fan comes forth to sing praises to you for expanding my mind as it were. I really enjoyed the Soft Sounds series you posted some time back. It became the soundtrack for my vacation, and my wife enjoyed some of the tracks as well. I was foolish not to bookmark this page then, but I can assure you that I am doing it now.
I will apologise ahead of time for posting a rather lengthy comment, but I was hoping to take advantage of your expertise in this genre. Back in 1987 I recorded a tape from the local college radio station here in Baltimore which contained some really amazing psych tunes. I have been desperately trying to find out who the artists are on this tape ever since. I know most of them, such as Five Day Week Straw People, Tripsichord Music Box and a handful of others, but there are two in particular which have racked my brain for decades. The first is an Israeli band who perform a track called "Strange People and another who perform a track which I want to say is called "Louis Delaney". I'm sure that is wrong, but here is where you come in. If you have some spare time, I'd really appreciate it if you could download and listen to this tape (here is the link. The two songs in question appear close to the end of the mix with the last track being Joe Byrd & The Field Hippies' "You Can't Ever Come Down". I would be forever grateful if you can help me out in my quest to find out who these artists are so I can seek out and find, buy or download more of their music.
Thank you in advance for your assistance and more important, thank you for all of these tremendous shares here, as well as your compilation site.
Peace and blessings,
Vincent the Soul Chef
Feel free to check out my blogs if you like... Mostly Funk and Soul with some other assorted freeform mixes as well, including a couple of Psych mixes.

Hey, I'm a 19 year old guy from England - I absolutley love this music you keep posting here. I got sick of the nonsense they play on the radio nowadays a couple years back and started listening to early sixties stuff like The Kinks and The Beatles which just blew my mind. They still sound so fresh and original and put anything released in the past few decades to real shame. I really love listening to this psychedelic stuff
I dunno how you find this stuff but I've found some real jems (listening to the American Blues Exchange right now) - do you rip these songs from vinyl and put them on your computer?
Thank you for all your hard work - it is all very much appreciated, my iPod is now full!!
Hey there
My english is not quiete good because I'm a french girl, but I wanted to say that, thanks to your blog and others on the web, I can listen a lot of 60's & 70's forgotten bands and it's so so great!
I'm 26 years of age and this is the only way to discover them.
Thank you so much. Greets from France
Hi
I'm 25 and live in Cologne, Germany. I found your blog while searching for the Faces of Jade LP.
What else to say... I can't understand what people like about todays "music". At least 92% of it is pure crap. I'm glad you guys are out there. I don't know what the situation in your countries is but in Germany, you're more or less alone with this kind of music ;)
Hi from Cy
This is my first visit. I left a comment in The Association box, so this is a quick hello, here, for now.
Cy from Portknockie.
THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS EVERYONE. IF I WASN'T SO BUSY IN LIFE, I WOULD BE RIPPING LP'S ALL DAY. I DO HAVE A FEW TRICKS UP MY SLEEVE.....
THE SIR
I'm a 52 year old from Auckland New Zealand. I was brought up with the radio on all day. My favourite music is that dreamy sunshine pop. Great to see a couple of comments from youngsters who appreciate the best era of music ever. How on earth do can people listen to today's crap?.
Keep em' comin'
60s 4ever!! Just another fan checking in, though I've commented oft ere. Haven't been by in a few months, so I am delighted - as usual - as to what you have on offer. Many, many thanks again for all of your efforts here and commentary on these erstwhile obscure gems. ~stu

I've been following you since you first started posting the Sir Psych Presents comps. I'm from L.A. but moved to Seattle about a year ago.
I've always meant to email you, because of one song in particular that I still LOVE over two years after I first heard it on one of your comps: John Williams "Flowers in Her Hair". I've failed to find any other material from him. Any chance you could lead me in the right direction? Thanks Sir Psych.

Hi! we visit you from Buenos Aires, please stop by in our blog. We upload all kinds of progressive rock albums. Greetings!
http://laterrazaprogresiva.blogspot.com/
I'm sitting here in Georgia USA, listening to my hair grow while downloading old songs. It's not that I dislike the new stuff exactly, it's more like they're not talking to me and I'm not listening to them. Thanx for keeping the old stuff flowing! mrbongo, I saw Bloodrock do that song in Savannah in the early Sixties; if I'm not mistaken their drummer ended up as the one black guy in Average White Band.
Fufustew — The Israeli (sort of; it's mostly Brits who happened to be in Tel Aviv) band that does "Straight People" is called Churchill's. I'm sure you can find their album on one of the blogs. It's gotta be one of the greatest albums ever recorded by anyone. Also, "The Murder of Lewis Tollani" is by the UK band called Kaleidoscope, from their album "Tangerine Dream."
Sir Psych — Don't think I've seen you much on the forum lately. Everything groovy?
Peace and music, all,
~C.A.~
Hello:
I live in Spain and I collect music since 1980. I started with the spanish music of the eighties, and some new wave, punk, and techno-pop(the music of my age). But a friend of mine was record seller, specialized in US sixties psych music and I heard some of the records he had to sell(Blues Magoos, Left Banke, Savage Resurrection, etc.) In the beginning I liked the surf music he had and I became a hardcore surf music collector, mostly original US editions of the sixties. Once he recorded the "Tea Company" album for me and I started searching some cover shot and I discovered the musical blogs. From that moment on, I started downloading all the mythical and rare albums my friend had talked to me about like Fraction, Morgen, Tangerine Zoo... and then I started listening to the english groups, and, my friend, I have discovered real diamonds like Kaleidoskope, Blossom Toes, Fuchsia etc.
Like you I love the vinyl, but obviously these records are unaffordable for my wallet, so I search in the blogs for records and when I find one that I really love try to buy it. Sadly they aren't always available.
Thanks for your blog and for sharing your music with us.
Tomás from Spain
I am a 61 year old (lived in the hippie days but in Missouri where it was not really very active. I didn't know about Haight-Ashbury back in the day but I finally made it there about 10 years ago. I know it wasn't the same anymore but it was as close a touch as I ever got. Thanks for sharing your music, I love it. Peace. Orion
Hi Sir Psych -
Thanks for the great blog!
I'll be 39 soon & I've been listening to psych and pop from the '60s since around 1987/88. I live in Philadelphia. I started listening to punk around 1985 and was curious as to where the influences came from, which has led me back in time through the history of rock, blues, jazz, roots etc. ... I am now primarily a fan and collector of 60s pop & psych, it has to be my favorite genre/era.
